💻3. Discord Conduct
The Black Sheep Role Play Discord is not just a chatroom--it's the out-of-character foundation of the community. This is where stories are coordinated, support is provided, trust is formed, and community is built.
You are expected to conduct yourself here with the same maturity and respect that's required in-game. The following policies apply to every channel, message, voice chat, and ticket. Violations may result in warnings, mutes, temporary removal, or permanent bans--depending on severity.
3. 1 Zero Tolerance for Hate or Discrimination
Bigotry of any kind will result in immediate action. This includes:
Racism
Homophobia
Transphobia
Misogyny
Ableism
Religious Intolerance
There are no warnings for this behavior. If you are found engaging in it, you may be muted or temporarily banned while staff investigate. If confirmed, removal will be permanent.
3.2 No Harassment, Trolling, or Abuse
Do not target, harass, or belittle other players.
Do not weaponize the rules to provoke conflict.
Do not stir drama or attempt to manipulate staff through pressure or guilt
We are here to collaborate--not compete. Subtle toxicity is still toxicity. If you are creating conflict instead of helping solve it, you may be asked to leave.
3.3 Use Channels Appropriately
Keep the server organized and readable for everyone.
Memes go in the memes channel
IC content stays in IC channels
Support and Rule breaks go through the ticket system
Suggestions belong in the suggestion channel
Biographies and Journals belong only to the person who created them. No one else should be typing in them
Using the wrong channel once or twice is fine. Repeated misuse after redirection will result in moderation.
3.4 Keep IC and OOC Separate
In-character conflict should stay in-character.
Out-of-character disagreements should be addressed respectfully and directly--not through gossip or passive-aggression.
Do not carry IC grudges into OOC spaces--or vice versa
You can dislike a character. That does not give you permission to disrespect the player behind them.
3.5 Tickets Are for Support — Not Soapboxes
Tickets exist to help resolve problems. They are not a place to vent, argue endlessly, or perform.
Use tickets if:
You have a concern about another player
You're requesting compensation or reporting a bug
You want rule clarification or admin review
You feel unsafe or need staff assistance
Tickets should be respectful, concise, and collaborative. Spamming tickets, ignoring staff guidance, or treating the system as a battleground or a courtroom may result in delayed responses or loss of access.
3.6 Voice Channels are Shared Spaces
When using voice channels:
Do not scream, dominate, or derail conversations
Do not use VC to escalate OOC conflict
Do not ambush or corner staff with complaints in voice
Voice chat is a privilege--not a right. If it's used to cause harm, disrupt others, or avoid accountability, access may be removed.
3.7 Hot Topic Discussions
Black Sheep Role Play is a gaming community--not a political battleground (outside of the Lore).
We welcome players from all walks of life, all belief systems, and all personal histories. But with that diversity comes a responsibility to keep the focus on what brings us together -- not what could drive us apart.
As such, we do not allow "hot topic" discussions in the Discord.
This includes (but is not limited to):
Modern-day politics or political parties
Gun rights, religion, or other divisive social issues
Ongoing real-world tragedies or polarizing news events
These conversations, while important in the right setting, don't belong here. They often spiral quickly, leave people feeling alienated or attacked, and fracture the kind of trust we need to build roleplay together.
If a conversation is getting heated: drop it cold. It's okay to say "let's not do this here." In fact, we encourage it.
This isn't about silencing anyone. It's about protecting a space where we can collaborate creatively, without our real-world views getting in the way of the in-character magic.
If you are unsure if a topic is appropriate: it probably isn't. The world at present is a hard enough place to live in--when we can find a way to escape it, we should do our best to hold that time as sacred.
3.8 Act Like a Community--Because You Are
Every message you send either contributes to the community or chips away at it.
You are not here alone. Your presence should make the space better--not harder--for others to enjoy. That's what community means.
